For the last 20 years, Key-Sun Choi has been Professor of Computer Science at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he founded in 1998 the Korea Terminology Research Center for Language and Knowledge Engineering (KORTERM), which became a member of Infoterm in 2000.
He is also Director of the Semantic Research Center and of the National Language Resource Bank, Vice-President of TermNet and President of the Asian Federation of Natural Language Processing (AFNLP).
Key-Sun Choi’s major research areas are natural language processing and cognitive informatics. His team has developed Korean language processing systems, English-Korean machine translation, a multilingual semantic dictionary for computer processing (CoreNet), and also ontology for semantic web in the IT field.
Key-Sun Choi was conference chair of IJCNLP in 2005, hosted the Global WordNet Conference in 2006 and was a PC Co-chair of the International Semantic Web Conference in 2007.
