On 8-10 August 2007, China National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies(CNCTST) and Heilongjiang University hosted The Second Conference on Chinese Terminology in Harbin, China. About 40 experts from universities, publish houses and CNCTST attended the conference.

In the conference, The experts exchanged  their ideas on Chinese terminology, exploring terminology theory, translating terms in science and technology, development of international terminology.

Experts thought that in next stage four tasks should be carried out:

1) build terminology principle which is accord with Chinese characters;

2) reinforce the terminology institute which is set up by CNCTST and Heilongjiang University. It will take part in activities in the terminology field not only domestic but also international and unite more researchers in terminology;

3) develop a terminology researcher group which contains experts coming from different subjects and fields;

4) train new researchers especially young researchers in terminology.
