1st Announcement and Call for Papers

The XIX World Congress of the International Federation of Translators (FIT) will bring together translators, interpreters, terminologists and other professionals from all over the world to discuss topical issues. Over 75 educational sessions will be offered in a variety of categories. Events and activities will allow for opportunities to network, mingle, and socialize. The Congress is hosted by the American Translators Association (ATA) in cooperation with FIT.

FIT is an international federation of associations of translators, interpreters, and terminologists gathering more than 100 associations from all over the world. Its purpose is to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents. FIT is also concerned with the conditions of professional practice in various countries and strives to defend translators' rights in particular and freedom of expression in general. FIT maintains formal consultative relations with UNESCO.

ATA is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of individual translators and interpreters. Its 11,000 members in more than 90 countries include translators, interpreters, teachers, project managers, web and software developers, language company owners, hospitals, universities, and government agencies.
