Ms. Fatemeh Akbari represents the Academy of Persian Language and Literature (APLL) in Infoterm and has served as a terminologist to various technical committees, conducting numerous projects over the past 25 years. Additionally, she is the founder and head of the Terminology Committee in the APLL's Terminology Department. Ms. Akbari holds a PhD in Translation Studies/Transcultural Communication from the University of Vienna, with a specialisation in Terminology and Language Planning. Furthermore, she has studied Teaching of Persian as a Foreign/Second language and has taught Persian language and culture in both Iran and Australia. She is a permanent member of the Iranian Society of Intercultural Philosophy and the Persian Language Director at Kamusi. Furthermore, Dr. Akbari represents the International Council of Onomastic Sciences (ICOS) at Infoterm and ISO/TC 37, as a member of the ICOS Board of Directors and the ICOS Terminology Group (ITOS). Her main areas of research are terminology, onomastics, sociolinguistics, and Persian studies.
